The Midwest Aboriginal Ranger Program: Gunnado On-Country Team

With extensive experience working with Indigenous groups and initiatives across Western Australia, Wild Vista was contracted by the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council to document and promote the Midwest Aboriginal Ranger Program, an initiative launched in 2017 in partnership with the Midwest regional office of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, with funding from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. The project involved filming across multiple locations in Western Australia, to document the significance of the Program to environmental conservation and land management across the state. By focusing on the Program’s participants and their stories, Wild Vista were able to showcase the many economic, social, and cultural benefits of the Program to the rangers, region, and community, and assist in securing future funding for the Program.
